Dr. Thomas Szasz and I, a great honour to finally meet Tom in person. Szasz was the keynote speaker at a great multiday conference I attended along with 300 other estute and like minded people with a critical approach to psychiatry.
Thomas Szasz, who will be 92 early next year, is the greatest contemporary critic of psychiatry, author of 35 books, and has dominated the controversial field of psychiatric critique for over half a century. This is a photo I will cherish for the rest of my life.
For those not as familiar with Szasz, a brief piece of writing by the man himself about his own life’s work can be found if you click here.
Union Station in Los Angeles is a beautiful art deco train station. Here can be seen a waiting area at Union Station.
